Questions people ask

What is the e-invoice turnover limit?
E-invoicing is mandatory when aggregate turnover has gone above ₹5 crore in any financial year from 2017-18 onwards.
What is the 30-day reporting limit?
From 1 April 2025, businesses with aggregate turnover of ₹10 crore or more must report an invoice to the e-invoice portal (IRP) within 30 days of its date. An invoice reported later is blocked, and the buyer can lose input tax credit on it.
Do e-invoices need to be entered in GSTR-1 again?
No. E-invoiced B2B supplies flow into GSTR-1 automatically. Entering them again risks duplicates.
What is an IRN?
The Invoice Reference Number the e-invoice portal returns for each invoice, together with a signed QR code that goes on the invoice.
Which turnover counts?
Aggregate turnover, which covers all your registrations under one PAN, not one GSTIN. Check the exact definition and any exempt category (such as SEZ units) with your CA.
