RET291106: JSON file not recognised or structurally invalid

The portal did not recognise the file. The GSTIN may be missing from the file, or the file was uploaded under a different GSTIN.

Why it happens

  • `gstin` missing or incorrect in the file.
  • The file belongs to a different GSTIN or return period than the one selected on the portal.

How to fix it

  1. Make sure the file names the correct GSTIN.
  2. Upload the latest correct JSON under the correct GSTIN.
